On the morning of November 4, 2016, Mr. Wu Ken, Chinese Ambassador to the Netherlands, accompanied by Mr. W. I.I. van Beek, Governor of Utrecht, the Netherlands, Mr. J.A. van der Pas, Mayor of Renen City, Mr. M.M.J.J.J. Boekhoorn, General Manager of Zoo, Mr. Robin de Lange, Chairman of Zhenjiang International Company, Mr. Li Hongbao and others, visited the construction site of Zhenjiang International Company.
Ambassador Wu visited the functional areas of giant panda living activities, food preparation, physical examination and diagnosis, breeding and nursery, as well as public areas such as popular science publicity, Chinese restaurants and gift shops. He listened carefully to the introduction of the park and our company on the planning and design, construction standards and construction progress of the panda pavilion, and discussed with all parties the follow-up preparations and acceptance matters. Ambassador Wu also visited our company and the Dutch workers who were working on the site, and accepted on-site interviews with Utrecht TV, "Gelderland" and other media.
Ambassador Wu appreciated the efforts made by all walks of life in China and the Netherlands for the giant panda to come to the Netherlands. He said that after more than a year's efforts by Zhenjiang International Company and the Dutch construction team, the construction of the Panda Pavilion is nearing completion. The whole building is beautiful and atmospheric, with strong Chinese cultural characteristics, which is conducive to the giant panda's adaptation as soon as possible after arriving in the Netherlands. I hope that everyone will continue to work hard, continue to improve facilities and staffing, and formulate relevant plans to ensure the complete success of the giant panda's arrival, settlement, and long-term residence.
