The renovation of the office and residential building of the Permanent Representative Office of China to the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (hereinafter referred to as the UNIDO building) was designed by the Austrian Hubner Civil Architecture Office. The building has a modernist architectural style and a novel and fashionable design. At the same time, it draws lessons from the facade philosophy of epidermidism. The exterior wall surfaces of the two functional areas are treated with two different surface texture, which are naturally consistent and distinguished. The two architectural styles are also in line with the identity and historical origin of UNIDO. The facade of the two parts of the building also has a window style. But the whole is still unified, quite lively and relaxed, giving people the feeling of fashion and pleasure.
The new building has practical and complete functions, a high level of intelligent office and very comfortable living conditions, and the concept of environmental protection is very advanced. For example, its daylighting system can achieve no daylighting dead ends without artificial lighting. At the same time, the architect has incorporated a large number of Chinese elements into the architectural scheme. The tower-shaped staircase and the moon door are the finishing touches. It is also an attempt to offsite with regionalism.
The building was built by Zhenjiang International Corporation. The company communicates and coordinates with the owner, the Austrian designer, the local planning and construction department, and strictly follows the design requirements and design drawings. The construction of the new building not only reflects the domestic manual process conditions and superb decoration technology, but also meets the strong functional requirements of foreign construction.
